The cryptocurrency exchange Gemini Trust has announced that Robert Cornish will join them as chief technology officer later this month. By joining Gemini, Cornish marks yet another Wall Street executive who has decided to join the cryptocurrency market boom.
Gemini is an up and coming cryptocurrency exchange that is owned and operated by the Winklevoss twins.
Earlier this summer Gemini received licenses to offer Bitcoin Cash and Litecoin trading in New York and was also the first business to ever get a license for Zcash in the state.
Robert Cornish who used to be the chief information officer at the NYSE will be joining the exchange later this month in a move that will help Gemini further establish themselves in the market space.
Earlier today Gemini Trust, the cryptocurrency exchange owned by the Winklevoss brothers, announced that they had hired former NYSE executive Robert Cornish as head of technology. Cornish will take over later this month, and his focus will be to help support and further develop Gemini’s technical approach.
When working for the NYSE Cornish was responsible for overseeing the stock exchange’s ongoing electronic trading, and his experience will definitely bring a well-needed boost in efficiency to Gemini.
